For Information Architecture, I was to choose a local library to focus my project on. I had to come up with a plan to get more people to use the wonderful resources that a public library has to offer. I chose the Ruiz Library because they already had an awesome program in place that really piqued my interest called the "Seed Library." The Seed Library offers patrons free flower and vegetable seeds, as well as other resources to guide gardeners of all skill levels. Free classes on a variety of gardening matters are offered throughout the growing season as well.
I intervierwed Amy Morris- the Ruiz Branch Supervisor and asked her what her hopes are for the seed library specifically. She responded with "I would like to make it a more wide-spread program that further involves younger generations."
For me, the ultimate goal for this project was to raise awareness of the insightful and free opportunities that are offered by the library, and create a space where meaningful human interaction is encouraged through a rebrand, bookmark incentives, website page, instagram, and snapchat filters that could be used when at the library.
